Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria Simulator just released over the past few hours, and we’ve cobbled together a guide for what looks to be the sixth, and possibly final, mainline Five Nights At Freddy’s game. From gameplay to secret mini-games and endings, here’s what we’ve learned so far.

THE GAMEPLAY BASICS

Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria Simulator essentially consists of three phases: creating your Fazbear franchise, defending against animatronics and salvaging old ones behind your store. They’re all intrinsically linked in small ways, but the latter two phases are probably the most important for getting all the cool lore and good ending.

PIZZERIA TYCOON TIPS

• The items you buy for your shop truly do matter. They essentially dictate how easy or difficult it will be to make it through the defense phase ahead.
• Purchasing items that are listed as a liability risk, like Nedd Bear, will make it harder to survive the night by adding more hazards. If you’re skilled at that portion of the game, however, he’s good at generating revenue for your franchise. The trick is to use some of these hazardous items to progress, but not enough that you get sued.
• You’ll also be prompted to purchase ads. These increase your revenue stream, but they’ll make loud noises that attract animatronics in the next phase. Ad disturbance will increase as you progress through the nights.
• You’ll also want to make sure these three items are in your restaurant: Fruity Maze Arcade Machine, Midnight Motorist and Security Puppet. We’ll explain why later.
• Performing well at mini-games like these increases your revenue.

ANIMATRONIC DEFENSE

This phase features classic Five Nights At Freddy’s gameplay, where certain mechanisms can be used to distract and disorient animatronics while you work through your shift. Your shift ends when you’ve finished all the maintenance for each day. However, animatronics you’ve purchased or salvaged will try to make sure you can’t do that.

You’ll have the following mechanisms to defend against foes:

• Motion sensor: Blips on the ventilation map will tell you if an animatronic is in the area. Keep a close eye on this at all times, and click the motion-sense button to reveal locations.
• Audio: The audio tool will play a sound to move an animatronic to a desired location. The audio cue doesn’t automatically draw animatronics to another location unless they can hear it. The blinking indicator has to be in the circular audio range for it to matter. If one animatronic is too close, use a sound to lure it to an above or adjacent room. While audio is distracting your enemies, try to get tasks done.
• Your computer and fan make additional noise. Shut these down if you hear an animatronic close by. Wait until it leaves to enable the features again.
• More so than other FNaF games, this phase really can be seen as a test of patience. Take your time, and don’t be afraid to shut everything down as soon as you hear a suspicious sound.

SALVAGE NEW ANIMATRONICS

The final step of your daily duties is salvaging a damaged animatronic and taking it into your shop. That sounds like a stupid idea, and it is, but you’ll have to do this for each night if you want the good ending.

A recording will play five times, and you’ll bring up a piece of paper to record the results. Check yes, no or unsure depending on if you see movement coming from the endoskeleton.

• Don’t be afraid to use your taser. The game says you can only use it three times, but, considering you only have five cycles to get through, that limitation isn’t as terrible as it seems.
• Don’t waste that taze before the audio plays. All reactions will come after each cycle, so use the tazer then. Look for eye twitches and other small signs of activity.
• Sometimes you may get a message that there is no animatronic to salvage. This occurs when you’ve purchased a dangerous animatronic, like Lefty, that’s already inside. This won’t impact your shot at the good ending.

Salvaging an animatronic puts them in play for the next defense round, and it’s the only way to get the true ending. If you miss even one salvage, you’ll get the bad ending.

ENDINGS AND LORE

As every good Five Nights At Freddy’s game should, Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria Simulator has a few mini-games with secret lore sequences. We won’t describe what happens in each one, but here’s how to unlock them:
